About and FAQ

Betelgeuse Betelgeuse is a neighborhood cocktail bar and pizza place with two locations: Our first location is in Old Sixth Ward on Washington Avenue in Houston, Texas. Our second location is on famous Montrose Boulevard in Houston, Texas.

What's the deal with the name?

Betelgeuse is a supergiant star in the Orion constellation. It's a short mental walk when you think about Houston, Space City, NASA, space culture, astronomy, etc. As Houstonians we've always loved space so we started thinking about fitting names for the bar that might involve that. And here we are!

What's this place all about?

Betelgeuse Betelgeuse is a neighborhood cocktail bar with pizza and snacks. Up-to-date information on the Montrose location is here, and for the Washington location here. We're great for first dates, breakups, weird art, large groups, an afternoon cocktail while reading a book or finishing some work, karaoke, late night DJs, handmade cocktails, sci-fi bathroom hallways, and friendly bartenders.

Is this a Beetlejuice themed bar?

No, but the cool thing about the culture surrounding the star Betelgeuse is that there's a lot of history involving the afterlife that was source material for the writers of the movie. So there's a lot of crossover, and we also really love that movie anyway.
